Laurie Huspen, founder of Valuable Resources, Co. (VRC), a leading human resources consulting and training group, has released several episodes in her podcast series Taboo Topix, to provide guidance to employers during the coronavirus outbreak.
Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, companies across the country have had major disruptions to their operating procedures, including the challenge of learning how to manage a work-from-home team. During this time, Huspen says it is critically important for employers and employees to stay connected.
“Employees need to see and hear from leadership on a regular basis,” claimed Huspen. “Company leaders are now tasked with finding ways to stay connected, monitor activities and maintain training initiatives even while employees work remotely.”
In response to the current state of affairs, Huspen has recorded podcasts on topics including “Training for a Work-from-Home Team,” “Job Search in Today’s Economy,” and “HR Solutions for the Work-from-Home Trend.”
“Both employers and employees are suddenly in an unexpected environment,” Huspen said. “We have done a lot of research and developed strategies to help businesses maintain necessary HR functions, as well as adapt to new and unique needs brought about by such a significant shift in the workplace.”
While businesses are intently focused on operations during the COVID-19 pandemic, Huspen is offering HR consulting services on handling critical culture and compliance issues that may be overlooked, and leading conversations on how to best prepare a transition plan for coming out of the lockdown.
“Because things are slow, leaders should use this time to build a strategy for springing back once we emerge from this crisis,” said Huspen. “It’s also a great time to catch up on all the training that was put on the back burner during your busier seasons and to develop plans to encourage and motivate employees when they return.
